Despite being a rather small city, Geneva has an abundance of shops.  You realize that abundance, when you start writing about them for a Geneva Life Guide for example.  Although famous for specializing in the finer things in life, Geneva is home to not only high-end shops such as Chanel and Prada, but also has famous European high street brands, such as H&M and Zara. Whether you’re looking for the convenience of Manor, or more specialist shops such as IKEA, our handy guide will show you the right locations to shop in Geneva.  Now if you are looking for the very best shopping spots, or the new additions ongoing, then you have to follow the occasional recommendations through the blog.

The majority of retail shops are open throughout the day, however smaller shops and certain service shops may close for lunch between the hours of 12:00 and 14:00 during the week. For the most part, grocery shops as well as retail stores do not stay open past 19:00 on weekdays. However, Thursday is enjoyed in Geneva as ‘The Shopping Day”, since stores stay open until as late as 21:00.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED IN THIS GUIDE
Jewellery, beauty products, chocolates, bakeries. Why? Simple: you cannot miss them. They are everywhere. I would not waste your precious reading time talking about the obvious. Instead look for posts in my blog with what is worth mentioning in the above categories.  I just remembered.  Books are not covered here either.  It would be a very short catalog:  FNAC and Payot.  There, you have it all.
