I can’t wait to leave on vacation. I’m the last one to go. The last one in the world I feel. The last one to escape my own reality. Away from anything. Just for ONE week. One precious week. 7 days of doing nothing. When you are doing nothing, every single day, every single hour counts. Simply because the time that you do nothing is the most expensive. Because it is so little, so scarce.
And it was just this thought that launched today’s research. Where in the world do people get the most time off? Public holidays and paid vacation time. I’ll take both. Any time of the year. The more, the merrier. So if time off is what I am looking for in life (yep that superficial, that vain, that simple), then Brazil, Sweden, or Austria. Then I would be in range of 40 days off total. Not bad, right? What is this number for Switzerland? A very modest 30, ie 20 paid plus 10 public! Imagine a life with another 10 days off. Wait. Read this again. A whole 10 days on top! See ya. Gone. Dreaming…
